WELCOME TO BETTESHANGER WELFARE YOUTH F.C
Betteshanger Welfare Youth was formed in spring 2000. The players were previously playing for Deal Town Rangers and had won the East Kent Youth League under eights Div 1. Coaches Paul Lansdown and Vince Peacock were invited to form a junior football club at Betteshanger Sports and Social club. We started our first season with Paul having a bare minimum of players and Vince started with one down. We picked up players during the season and have gone from strength to strength, growing by one or more teams a season. We currently have eleven teams playing in the League with an under eights training for next season. The players that formed our first teams in 2000 are now under sixteen and will move into the Betteshanger senior sides next season. We will then have a club with teams ranging from under eight right through to senior football. We have a new level two coach taking over the senior side next season as the present coach is retiring hoping to get his life back! All our coaches are qualified both in coaching and first aid. They also attend a Child Protection Course and are checked by the Criminal Records Bureau. As a club our aim is simple: to provide a safe, pleasant, friendly evironment in which children can enjoy playing football. We are not all about winning, although winning is good it is not our primary focus. Having said that this season has been our most successful to date with a possible six teams receiving trophies from the League.
